@kensingtonpalace: No it has not changed - the Holy Fathers have forbidden the use of instruments - it is pagan.
But since modernism has infected some orthodox christians, they copy the heterodox - I don't know why because that sounds horrible.

Such pseudo orthodox parishes are a shame for us! Shame on those betrayers of faith - shame on them who destroy the Holy Tradition of the church. Shame on the new judas

@stcolmcille: It does not matter if "greeks" use them or not. It is fobidden to use instruments in the Temple of God. So they are uncanonical. And usually in greece there are NO ORGANS.
PEWS are strictyl forbidden in Holy Orthdooxy and women have to cover their hair. Women and men have to be seperated in the Temple of God - it is an apostolic Tradition.

Get that organ out! If you are not in your motherland that doesn't mean that you use organs! So as chairs,get that out as well !

@kensingtonpalace Many Greek and Arab parishes in the Americas use the organ to assist the choir. I'm not sure if they use it the old country. The Slavic churches avoid use of instruments.

it was my understanding that Orthodox Churches don't allow musical instruments in their services...has that changed?
