and many of the real linemen in my shop make over 200,000 a year. the job is as safe as you make it. u take ever precaution that u can nothing will ever happen, but of course everyone takes short cuts. and i dont see where he ever says a tower is a pole?? yea we climb towers 2 buddy. haha ur the reason we call phone guys, "phone fags"

I'm in school for this stuff right now in the USAF. They are wearing things called "Gaffs." Little spikes coming out the side of their boots. About 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch actually goes in the pole and holds all their weight. It is kinda easy, takes practice, and there is something in their boots.
