The Spirit (2008) - Movie Review

The Spirit is a fatally flawed superhero movie even my favorite actor Samuel L. Jackson couldn't save it from it's soulless acting. The main problem is that I never came to care for a single character in the movie, and I cannot blame the cast, only the writer Frank Miller. Eva Mendes semi-nude scene doesn't even save the movie and that is truly depressing in terms of superhero movies. "I like shiny things"-Sand Saref played by Eva Mendes, well congratulations Eva, you now have something in common with my dog. The movie sucked and I recommend your friends watch it to weed out the idiots. IMDB Rating: 5.9/10 or an F+.

I think this movie was completely misunderstood. I mean... it's definitely not supposed to be watched like any other regular movie. It is not a regular movie. It's just nuts. It's not to be take seriously or anything, it's just some kind of crazy visual experience.

Of course you noticed that now, but it looks many people expected like a super deep and interesting superhero movie. It sure isn't. But I'm pretty sure it never even tried to be.

I thought this was steaming pile of horse shit aswell. Inglourious Basterds is one I watched recently, I recommend it.

I liked Sin City, but someone please tell me how did Frank Miller fuck up so bad with The Spirit? Sure it had good visual effects. But the plot was non-existent, the writing was the worst, and the action in the movie was awful and cheesy.

i did kinda enjoy the film but they needed to put more into the sub characters such as Silken Floss & Sand Saref, what the hell was even the point of involving Lorelai & Plaster Of Paris, it should of been Octopus, Silken Floss & Sand Saref, if they had those 5 main characters (the spirit & helen dolan along with the above mentioned), they would of been able to focus on less characters and have a deeper plot which would be able to intertwine the characters more closely together!!!
