The Dirty 9's appeared in the semi final of Deis Roc in March 2008. If you are watching this before the 14th of March you can vote for them by texting "The Dirty Nines" to 53500.
They chose to write a new song for this round of the competition. The lyrics of the song deal with loss and confusion. Translating the lyrics leaves you with very old irish sentiments such as 'I've lost my spirit and i've lost my heart', 'I broke the silence, and dispensed with my thoughts', and the initial couplet of the song, 'I jumped in, but I walked out.
The song featured Stephen the bass player providing backing vocals for the first time ever, and doing a bang-up job!

The band members are:

Vocals + Rhythm Guitar - Fergal Moloney
Lead Guitar - Cian McCarthy
Bass guitar + Backing Vocals - Stephen Dunne
Drums - Paul Rice
