@preemptivestrike20 And I suppose you'll say we should watch a video funded by McDonald's to find out why fast food is beneficial for your health?

@torkolv97 Except that the Soviets advanced because if they didn't, they would be shot by the NKVD officers behind them. The "bravest" Soviet soldiers were the released prisoners who were promised freedom in exchanged for military service. They were used as cannon fodder and sent back to prison after the war. The truth about the Soviets isn't as glorious as you seem to think. Watch the documentary "The Soviet Story" and abandon the illusory Soviet propaganda that you've bought into.

@KirowAirship In Warsaw Uprising the phrase "One shot - one German" has also been used ("jeden nabój - jeden Niemiec"). Everybody was meant to save as many rounds as possible, as the ammo was scarce. Zdrawstwujte is Polszii!!

In Polish military this melody was used for the soldiers' song "Rozszumialy sie wierzby płaczące" ("Weeping willows a-rustled", in Russian "шуршали плакучие ивы"). Greetings from Poland!!

@PiusMatthias I mean it existed longer since the song started to be used in a military sense.
-
@PiusMatthias Wrong, comrade. The song was used by both, but more by the Union because it existed longer :)
-
@PiusMatthias i think it suits the soviet union better...

This is a song of the Tsarist military, not the Soviet union.
