That's one thing about MJ and why I don't believe anybody will surpass him as the greatest of all time. Because not only was he the best offensive player in the league, he was also the greatest defender in the league.

MJ just lets him by because he wanted that to happen so he could block the ish out of Reggie from the back in a way he could still keep the ball in play. He could've also let Reggie score if he wanted to just so he could finish the game with one of his buzzer beaters. Jordan in his prime was maybe the nastiest defender you'd ever face. Especially when he turned it on, which he didn't do a lot of times but when he did...boy oh boy. The only guard to win DPOY ever. Says it all.
