  • Well, u can also do one thing....x = A Sin[2*pi*x/lambda]. Therefore, x(dot)= v = A*2*pi*lambda Cos["] at x = 5cm, all u need to know is Cos[36 degrees] which every JEE student knows. Thats all...ur first argument is right that only +-j are the possibilities but the intuition is a little too much...
