  • I'd have to see the full episode to see why they built it like they did, but i don't think this is busted. Ultralights do not have wings that are wider at the front like a regular airplane, the wings are flat as you see at the beginning of the video when they visit the place where ultralights are made. I think all their structural supports and the shape of the wing just added weight and drag. I see this as being possible to glide off of a cliff and land a little ways off.

  • the commentator sounds like an english fuckhead... is this fan made voice over?

  • you can do it.. I built one with fabric from walmart and a motor from the junk yard.. of course I did buy some expensive spruce not bamboo.. but bamboo is strong enough

  • @RichardNeill01 the wings could have had more of a lift production design

  • It is possible yes. The ultralight was not built by mythbuster MacGyver and equal to the speed and height did not get to start the flight. The MITHBUSTER committed several errors, but that's okay. rs

  • This hasn't been busted. Look at 4:44, the wing looks about 10" tall. And at 7:41 it looks extremely lopsided. Get me the materials, I'll build one that flies!

  • @BigRedNZ1 They might as well have tried to roundhouse-kick like Chuck Norris.

  • Busted? no. Amateur plane build fail? yes.

  • if the prop and engine was bigger and had more power the altogether might not have fallen as far an it may have been recoverable from the plummet or if not it may have been at least survivable. the tail should have also been farther back. but it was a good design altogether.
