  • To the comment of quality over PRI, in coming years bandwidth and throughput will be upgraded accordingly as services with our current capabilities become insufficient. We are already seeing a great improvement in availability in these areas in large cities (such as optical communications) and as SIP grows I see ISPs improving to satisfy. And just as WiFi's inception I think it will become secure. Just an opinion but i thought i should throw it out there.

  • @EnoughBullshnit Well said! I agree.

  • Thanks for the basic explaination but you can do DTO with PRI circuits as well. So thats not really a benefit of SIP... The only Benefit of SIP is not having t1 cards and not having extra circuit costs.. The drawbacks of sip is that its a security nightmare since its all text based as well as Call quality will not be the same as your Traditional TDM PRI connection. Pricing might be cheaper but you are sacrificing quality.

  • @Kingcocca You can do a Remote Call Forward (RCF) with PRIs, which is similar to DTO, but uses he idea of forwarding all calls to a new telephone number in the cloud as opposed to sending calls to a new SIP trunk via IP address. If you are running SIP over the Internet, I agree that you are sacrificing quality. If you are running SIP over MPLS there is no degradation in voice quaility if QoS is implemented.

  • @mpatryn Youtube is a place for individuals to share videos that they find interesting.. which is what I have done.. and will continue to do... so in that light.. Youtube is my "public" class room... "private" implies that there is a membership fee of some sort... your only investment was the effort to click your mouse and navigate to my Youtube channel... if you find my videos boring.. I encourage you to continue to invest more effort in your mouse... and navigate away from my channel...

  • Outstanding.

  • I like this video. You did a great job. My only observation is PRIs are pretty cheap now. You may very well find that the cost of increasing your bandwidth to support a pure IP topology VS the cost savings of eliminating the PRIs to be of questionable benefit when all said and done. But regardless, the video is very good. Thanks for doing it!

  • I currently work for a Telephone / Interent / TV provider we have a 5ESS Switch which we just changed to a new Genband C15. I'll be needing to learn SIP Trunking. So I'm starting my search for info before the classes start soon. I want to be ready so I'm not feeling like a Deer in head lights when the classes start. Great information. Thanks!

  • Although this video was done a while ago, the information in it is concise and well explained. Thanks.

  • this is great stuff. thanks for sharing with all of us mike!

(So far) Could you do a tutorials on auto dialers using sql table numbers or get more into something of that nature. once again this is the first of your videos that I have seen so ... , Thanks Again !

  • I just took notes on this.. This was clear. Was able to understand all in one shot, well .. I did rewind a couple of times for cube and the order that devices speak to desired line. GREAT STUFF. Please DO NOT QUIT THIS...
