England grabbed its citizens guns in 1997. Crime skyrocketed as the law-abiding were disarmed. The English citizens have a message for Americans.

Typical lib. Makes broad statements with nothing supporting them. If you make a point that they cannot counter with facts they either lie or change the subject and lie again. There's no debating with an individual that has no personal honor.

You're nowhere near comparing like for like. To do that visit the Eurostat website and compare murders (not gun murders, total murders). Since 1996 gun killings in the UK dropped by 30%. Feel free to look at the actual figures yourself, you'll find them on the UK govt's OFSTAT website released Feb 2013.

BTW - guns are not banned in the UK, there are tight access controls though. I own three.

What are you talking about? You do realize that people in Switzerland are handed out guns for free by the govt do you, as part of their national service, and in light of the fact that every male over the age of 18 in Switzerland is considered a member of the armed services?

As a side note - in my country its estimated that 67% of our population own guns, yet by head of population we have a gun killing rate 82% lower than the US. Just saying.

Oh look - yet another video of the criminal countryside alliance group, which is responsible for illegally hunting and poaching animals in the UK, being used as some kind of justification for Americans to own firearms.

This is ridiculous. Well done America - supporting this video is supporting illegal actions by a criminal organization.

I'd ban guns in USA and all these people who love fox hunting are sick in the head there the last people who should ever own a gun!

well apparently it didn't slow them down. And btw, the UK is an Island, which means guns are going to be more expensive in the black market due to the fact they don't have other countries to do business in. Switzerland and Israel have plenty of guns and it's crime rate is low, this shows that it's just America is naturally a dangerous country for it's money. When you compare European countries with gun ownership and crime there is no proof that more gun ownership=more violence.

I can only speak about shotguns from personal experience and it was clear even in the 60s that owning one was a privilege allowed to some individuals only, who met some strict criteria, as I mentioned before. But I think handguns and rifles were controlled like that too. One positive outcome of banning handguns has been that in the black market they have become so expensive that villains rent them from ""armourers" by the day.So casual teen thugs find them harder and harder to get hold of

That was how guns were confiscated, because of registry. I was aware of that, but it wasn't like true gun control. I support mandatory licenses, not registry. handguns and semi-automatic rifles were legal at that time, so you can't really say gun-control was a pain at the time.

ah, now I see where you were mislead!. The actual situation in this country is that guns have been tightly controlled since the 1920s. And a license was required to purchase one. So even to own a shotgun you had to satisfy the police that you had a place to shoot the gun, had separate gun and cartridge lockers, had your application countersigned by a "person of authority in your community. The police inspected your house too. Licenses had to be renewed. It was the same for rifles and pistols.
