no Guillermo del Toro is not spanish he is mexican. The movie takes places in Spain and was filmed in spain and all the actors are spanish so that means from Spain.

Spanish= from Spain (or the name of the language)

Spanish DOESN'T MEAN a person who speaks spanish!!!! DAMMM
