Yeah but I would say that the PE2020 has even slightly better performance than a DUAL 1019 / 1219 / 1229, because the PE´s mechanics are made to unbelievable high standards, it may look a little fat, but especially the Tonearm has some of the best bearings I have ever seen, and the tonearm is medium heavy not heavy its lighter than an SME 3009 and has same good detection quality

@calixa I could use a scan of that manual if you wouldn't mind! I just got a LZ 2020 today but no docs. Thanks!

The germans has always been great enginers and developers of technic solutions, and this is not an exception! Very nice song, with the swedish singer Bibi Johns, and, I really love your player, and the very nice quality of the picture and I would really like to have an old nice 78-player; I've built my own but mine is not an enjoyment for the eye. Thanks for this great video! Hälsningar, Falkis

This is quite normal for a 50ies shellac which has not been abused with steel needles (only ceramic pick-ups with saphire needles running at "gentle" 8p ;-) ). Except these recordings are mono, they are not worse than vinyl. They almost reach HiFi-quality ...

Hallo,
schön der 2020. Hast du vielleicht auch von Bibi Johns Die Gibsy Band/Papa tanzt Mambo, wäre super, wenn du die auch bei YouTube einstellen könntest.

This has really good sound quality. What type of cartridge are you using and what are you playing it through. I have a Dual 1219 changer and I didn't know Dual bought PE. I also have a 1950's Perpetumm changer. They were really unusual and one of kind in their operation. I had to do some tedious adjustments to the mechanism to get the 45 spindle to work properly but it works smoothly now.

Hi! It uses a new Shure M78s cartridge. However, I can't recommend it. Two of three were faulty. I also have a M75 with a cheap shellac stylus replica which sounds nice, too. The PE in the Video above is connected to my Revox A78 and recorded directly with the laptop. Not with the microphone ... The 1219 is a veeeeery nice machine! Great! :-)
