A Clever Device in action.....

This is a ride on GRTC Bus #506. In this video, the Clever Devices system was active as on most of the 500 and 700-series Gillig Low Floors. The GRTC will also have this system active on the Phantoms as well.

There are some more examples on my channel of the Clever Devices mechanism in action. Around the summer of 2007, Walt Disney World started outfitting their buses with a similar setup, where the spiels and background music are activated via GPS location.

what your filming is automated annunciator which is actuated by gps location. All the "clever devices" thing is a brand name of a pa announce system that the operator pushes a floor switch, and it records what the driver has to say (announcement)then once you let off the switch it plays it back to the whole bus. You can program it for outside (platform) announcements to. eg. when you open the door it automatically says what you want. like route 1 to jones st. etc.
