Couldn't agree more!!! I know the band misses him, Dave just happens to be the only one who has openly stated it that I know of.

I was just telling someone of Alan Wilder's invaluable contributions. The minute he stepped in as the 4th member, things got richer. And with Violator, he and Flood, were the ones tweaking these songs, like Enjoy the Silence, to give them that edgy and unique flavor. His absence is so obvious! They were a great team!

Hard to believe this song would've been a slow ballad had it been up to Martin Gore. It was Alan Wilder who came up with the idea of speeding this song up and created the upbeat tempo sound for the song.

This song has been covered by many bands over the years, including HIM, Tori Amos, Keane, Lacuna Coil, Breaking Benjamin, and others. Been listening to DM for the past 25 years and this is one of their greatest songs!
