Great! I like Honda's!

Just to let you know that is NOT a honda engine on your generator, those generators come with a actual Generac engine, it is not a honda, looks like a honda, but its a Generac engine, i have two of these generators and its a 220 engine meaning it i believe the 7.8 hp engine, so if you need parts, look it up for the generac engine,

Just bought a brand new 15 kw Generac GP series for my 5000 square foot house.

yeah my dads generac is as reliable as my 1950's clinton 3hp mini generator! that is what you want when you need them!

@blackbill44, i might do that on the new generator, if i find one at a reasonable price

mine is a 4000xl too, runs great but has almost NO voltage output, maybe 30volts ac at the 110 line, less then 40 hours use...any ideas? repair shop said just replace it, the labor is more then its worth.

sounds like the brushings not making any contacts on the track, or defective winding coil, how old is the generator?

I worked on alot of generators when I lived in Miami and worked in a small engine repair shop, and I have to say I think the generacs are the best portable gensets out there. They are like the cadillacs of generators for sure! Where else do you get full pressure lubrication? Some of the snapper lawnmowers had it with the nicer kawasaki engines, but I have not seen it anywhere else on a genset. Nice set I have the same one. Gotta love that 7.8

oh yes, i made another video of fixing the generator, it was leaking oil in the low oil cut-off pressure switch, i was wondering why it keeps cutting out after 5 to 10 seconds of runtime, and the low oil light did not come on, i seen the oil was leaking on the switch, i took the wires off and restart it and it ran fine, so the cut-off switch should not leak as it keeps the kill switch open, i took it off and replace it with a pressure gauge on it until i find another switch for it
