  • No, don't take my stonyness away!

  • great for spuds but plays havoc with drainage for subsiquent crops

  • Well explained bodges, i leased land out for spuds myself this year, but i never really understood de stoning........until you explained...thank you!

  • oooh how this brings back memories from 2006!!! woow lol so much fun.. yet so many days!!! i did 42 acres and it took nrl 7 days!! lmao thanks 4 this 1! :D

  • Its technicaly stone and clod seperating. the potatoes grow in the beds not where the stones and clods are distributed. they are removed as potatoes dont like rough soil to grow in as this scars the skins which makes them unsaleable to supermarkets. the actually machine lifts the soil up from a preset depth carrying up over'stars'where the majority of soil falls through then carryed onto a web where more soil falls through.and material too big to fit through is carryed on to an elevator and out.

  • I would not call it destoning when you are just windrowing the stones back into the field...Can someon explain what goes on here in detail?
