Released in time for Yom Yerushalayim (Jerusalem Day) & the 2011 Salute To Israel Parade, Gershon Veroba performs a song composed by Moshe Yess, a"h, and Shalom Levine, the original Megama Duo that gave us songs like "My Zaidie" and "The Size of the Fight in the Man" (also known as "Little David").

In this new production, Gershon honors his former roommates and remembers his friend, Moshe, in the best way possible...to celebrate the holy city.


The video features footage of Gershon performing the song in the studio with his friends, Gal Gershovsky and Bobby ("Shuby") Shubowitz, as well as singing with his son, Abie. These four people comprise the entire production.

The photographs feature the Shubowitz and Veroba families in Israel, including one of Corporal Meir Shubowitz with his fellow Israeli soldiers at his EMT certification ceremony and another taken the moment Ali Veroba (Gershon's daughter) first saw the כותל המערבי, the Western Wall of the Holy Temple and the site of our Jewish origin.

Less-established songs where I can actually make something unique and entertaining are the best candidates. I hope also to make videos of some of my own songs, whether we remake them or just make videos from the existing recording.

@onemanband613 Part of being a good artist is knowing when not to attempt someone else's magic. Prayer Book Blues, Learning from the Torah, etc. are purely Megama vehicles. My vote is to leave them as-is. I could never make them any better, or even match them, for that matter, Those two guys by themselves with nothing added that made it great, especially for it's time & place. "The reason that we got big noses/Is to keep 'em in the 5 book of Moses." I could never sell that the way they did.
