Kucinich Cites Arms Export and Control Act in Decision to Vote Against House Measure Supporting Israeli Offensive

Both the House and Senate passed non-binding resolutions last week overwhelmingly supporting Israels offensive in Gaza. On Thursday, the Senate passed the resolution by a unanimous voice vote. The House voted on a similar bill on Friday that passed by a vote of 390 for and five against. 22 representatives voted present. We speak with Rep. Dennis Kucinich (DOH) who voted against the measure.

  • Once again, Dennis Kucinich proves he is an adult in a room full of children. While most everyone else takes the easy way out, he is willing to examine the entire situation, and take a stand for what he believes is right.

Thank you, Representative Kucinich, for being a voice of reason.

  • Why exactly didn't Kucinich get any respect? He should be our incoming president. I'm so ashamed of my government. Go to hell GWB.

  • What does our congress and legislative process have to do with the right of foreign nation to self defense? What if they voted no, would that then deny Israel the right to self defense? It would appear to me that this was just a process introduced by AIPAC to close the door on any possibility that someone may have challenged US aide to Israel on the grounds of war crimes committed by Israel in Gaza. Very smart those leeches are and the "Politicians", AKA AIPAC Parrots obliged! SHAMELESS!

  • давай денис мочи пидаров.. суки совсем нюх потеряли..

  • Dennis Kucinich for President!!!

  • @HotGeneration100 The world pressures Israel to give them land because they are sucking up to the oil countries and lets admit it- there are a lot of Jew haters out there. The palestines did not attack Israel alone in 48. they attacked with 5 other countries. Is it Israel's problem that they lost the war?why do we have to give them land back? There are no palestines. There is one Arab empire that through manipulation wants to take over Israel. Do your homework before you right me back.

  • @HotGeneration100

it's a bit difficult to explain the middle east in a few lines on youtube to someone from Australia. if you want to understand politics you have to know the truth behind the b.s. in the media. Do palestines want peace? No. The year after they got back Gush Katif -they launched more rockets than the previous years and voted for the Hamas that does not recognize Israel. what did giving them Gush Katif achieve? Now they launch rockets into towns they could not reach before.

  • You can call people Nazis and ignorant - that just shows the level of your maturity. Im not interested in name calling.

Saying "we have the right to defend ourselves" means more war. Let me ask you this? How long has the conflict been going? And all people like you can say is "we have the right to defend ourselves". When is peace going to be an option?

  • @HotGeneration100

first of all 90% of the people who discuss this conflict are ignorant to the situation, including you. you did not live in the region and know nothing. did I say I want war? did I say that I want human rights- especially of Jews- to be violated? does Gilad shalit have rights? by the way- ever since Israel gave back Gush Katif the conflict has escalated- put 2 and 2 together- maybe you will get the picture.

  • So basically what you are saying is that we need more war in the region??? Im appalled by your comment.

Human rights should be everybodys business sweetheart. Peace cannot be kept by force; it can only be achieved by understanding.

  • Kucinich is so well versed in so many areas. He is really the man that should be president
