499 euros AND USD??????
FUCK YOU what the hell, 499 euros is around 720 usd!!!!!!!!!!! Why would you make us europeans pay nearly the 50% more??? You ugly thiefs

This synth is an Alesis Micron clone. I own a micron and the sounds blow every other VA I've heard out of the water. You will have to spend at least twice as much money to come close to the sounds of this synth.

Very good description on the product but teriible sound demonstration. Does it loop a keyboard solo? Or just drum loops?

Buying this kind of device IS A WASTE OF MONEY ... ! And this sould be a "CHEAP" instrument...? It just doens't worth its price ... The same story of KORG R3: i bought it in April 2008 and SOLD IT 20 days after...it was awful. My suggestion is : when You can't afford enough money to buy something professional, just Wait and Save it ... You'll be much Happier when You'll be able to buy somthing Serious :-) !

Well, the only thing deluxe about it is that the screen color's changed from blue to green; also as far as I have gathered, they include a mic as a freebie. But then again, people tend to fall for freebies easily, so... XD

It might go undeservedly unobserved, but I played one last weekend and in my opinion it blows away the micro and the microXL...way more solid construction and the sounds are f'ing AMAZING. I'm planning on picking one up as soon as I can afford it..

It's an intriguing little synth, actually, BUT... It's gonna have a lot of problems getting off the ground. For the same MSRP as the Microkorg XL, you get a WAY uglier box, and nothing in Akai's literature suggests that it is anything but a Micro clone. Of course, reading reviews I found out it has far greater patch storage, a lot more vocoder bands, and like the Micron, emulates a lot of cool synth filters, but Akai is not marketing these features. It may get undeservedly ignored.

I agree with you pandemic. all these internet critics and gear heads probably couldn't write a tune to save their lives. if a given piece of equipment works for you and helps you to better write and perform your songs, then more power to you!
Hate the ads and it was the worst "demo" I've ever seen. Pathetic. The 1 second sound clips simply suggest that the sounds are rubbish, or why not play the note long enough that we can appreciate them?
Re HS comment - I agree, better to buy something good but used than new that you won't like.

Hi Dave, I'm sorry that you don't like the video. The Focusrite ads are essential and their continued support allows me to travel to the shows to create these little clips. I'm aware that they're not perfect but I'm trying to improve all aspects of the videos as quickly as I can. SOS
