The confluence of the three rivers in our area, the Ohio, the Miami, and the Whitewater is on the route for migratory birds. As numbers grow (the Canada Geese are up something like 400% compared to the '70s) we begin to see more an more.

Some consider them a nuisance, I think its simply a grand scene.

  • Our farm is located right on or near the confluence of three Rivers and surrounding by flat river bottoms, flood plains, and fields. All provide a rich habitat for almost ANY migratory bird.

    I think we are seeing more because temperatures might be changing, migratory patterns might be changing, and the populations are on the rise (for anyone of a number of reasons).
