Deen sounded fantastic with Gregg. I'd love to hear these two do all the old tunes

Wow.. what a find! I always loved Gregg Rolie's voice. Wish Journey would bring him back on the road with Arnel and do a bunch of the Departure and Infinity Stuff as well as a few early Journey tunes. That would be killer!

@windsofmarch I would love to see him come back with the current band. If for no other reason than to sing his songs during their tour. I always loved the songs he sang.

@86marillion I'm not sure that Gregg and Neal have 'differences' per se. The differences were more between Perry and Rolie, or Perry and Schon.

Gregg will be back in Dallas celebrating the release of "Five Days" with a special performance at Poor David's Pub on Friday, September 30, 2011.

Rolie sounds soo damn good and just like it did 30 years ago. Seeing that shot on the big screen of Rolie & Schon together, wow & if only. Put your differences aside guys and do a reunion tour!

I LOVE Journey's vocal sound with Gregg singing! It is a very distinctive voice with color and richness to spare. The roots of Journey's live vocal sound. I would love to see him do this more often!

cridecar, like you and maquinaviolenta also said, I agree that it must be drummer Deen Castronovo doing Steve Perry's backing vocals here. There are 2 other camera-phone video clips posted on youtube of this same song, except they're taken from the balcony. They show Deen on the big video screen several times, but it's hard to tell if he is singing. After the song is over and Gregg leaves the stage, then you see the new lead singer climb the steps stage right and run back out front again.
