Mike Smith, Also Known as The Locksmith is #41 For The Phoenix Coyotes. Smitty Stands 6'4 219 lbs and Was Born on March 22 1982 in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. Mike Played 4 Seasons in The OHL Split Between The Kingston Frontenacs and The Sudbury Wolves. Mike Was Traded To Sudbury on October 25 2000 For Sudbury's 10 Round Pick in The 2002 OHL Midget Draft. Leading Sudbury To a Post Season Run During The 2000-01 Playoffs Getting All The Way To Game 7 of The 2nd Round. That Following Summer, Mike Was Selected 161st Overall in The 5th Round of The 2001 NHL Entry Draft By The Dallas Stars. Mike Then Spent The 2002-03 Season With The Lexington Men O'War of The ECHL, Playing in 27 Games and Finishing With an 11-10-4 Record and 1 Shutout. Smitty Then Spent The Next 4 Seasons in The AHL, Spending 2 Years With The Utah Grizzlies, 1 With The Houston Aeros and 1 With The Iowa Stars. His best Season Was Final Final one in 2005-06 Where He Appeared in 50 Games and Posted a 25-19-6 Record With 3 Shutouts and a .917 Sv% and a 2.50 GAA. Mike Finally Made it into The Show For The 2006-07 NHL Season, Backing up Marty Turco and Appearing in 23 Games and Got His First NHL Victory Alongside His First NHL Shutout on October 21 2006 Against The Phoenix Coyotes in a 4-0, 22 Saves Performance. Mike Was Also Named To The All Rookie Team in 2007 and Posted a 12-5-2 Record With 3 Shutouts. Mike Would Then Back up Turco in Dallas For The 2007-08 NHL Season Posting a Similar 12-9-0 Record With 2 Shutouts and at The Trade Deadline Was Traded To The Tampa Bay Lightning Alongside Jussi Jokinen and Jeff Halpern in Exchange For Brad Richards and Johan Holmqvist. Mike Then Spent The Next 3 and ½ Seasons in Tampa and in His Final Year, Posted a 13-6-1 Record With 1 Shutout Backing up Dwayne Roloson. In The Off Season of That Season Tampa Bay Let a Great Goalie in Mike Smith Go To Free Agency, Where Mike Signed With The Phoenix Coyotes on a Multi-Year Deal and Mike Smith Has Sure Made The Most of it. Mike Had Never Been a NumbeR 1 Goalie in The NHL Before and His Previous Career Highs Were 42 Games Appeared in, 14 Wins, 3 Shutouts and a .916 Sv% and Mike Has Blown Every Single one of Those Career Highs out of The Water. Smith Appeared in 67 Games This Season in Phoenix, More Than Doubling His Career High in Wins With 38 and Only a Meer 18 Loses and an Incredible 8 Shutouts and a .930 Sv%. In The Final Months of The Regular Season Smith Really Stepped up His Play To Another World, Winning 11 Games in a Row and Went Undefeated in The Month of February. Mike Posted 3 Consecutive Shutouts With a 38 Saves Shutout Against San Jose, 44 Saves Shutout Against Anaheim and Topping it All off With an NHL Record 54 Save Shutout Against The Columbus Blue Jackets, Helping Phoenix Squeak into The Playoffs and Win The Pacific Division Title and Capture 3rd Place. Mike Smith Was Amazing in Round 1 of The Stanley CUp Playoffs Vs The Chicago Blackhawks, Making 43 Saves For a 3-2 OT Win in Game 1, 46 Saves in Game 2, 35 Saves For The 3-2 OT Win in Game 3, 30 Save For The 3-2 OT Win in Game 4 and an Impeccable 39 Save Shutout in Game 6 To Eliminate The Chicago Blackhawks. In Round 2, Smith Was Just as Good, Making 39 Saves For a 3-2 OT Win in Game 1, 30 Saves For the 3-2 Win in Game 2, a 25 Save Shutout in Game 4 and 32 Saves For a 2-1 Win in Game 5 To Knock Off The Nashville Predators. In The Conference Mike's Play Didn't Drop off a Bit When He Made 44 Saves, Despite Getting Outshot 48- 27 in a 4-2 Loss in Game 1. Mike Got Another 40 Shot Game in Game 2. Despite Being Eliminated By The Los Angeles Kings in 5 Games in The Western Conference Finals, Mike Smith Was The Only Reason Why The Series Was as Close as it Was. Mike Had 10 Games Where He Faced at Least 35 Shots in The 2012 Stanley Cup Playoffs and Was 5-5 in Those Games. Mike Smith is The Real Deal, Its Hard To Believe That Tampa Bay Let This Guy Go For Nothing in The Off-Season. Mike Smith is a Top 3 NHL Goalie, Despite Not Getting Nominated For The Vezina, I Was a Firm Believer That Mike Should Have Not Only Been Nominated But Won The Award. I Can't Wait To See What Mike Puts Together For The 2012-13 NHL Season. Also if Your Wondering Why Mike Smith's Hair is Big, Bushy and Long, Mike Made a Bet With Ryan Malone in The Summer of 2011 That Whoever Cut Their Hair First Lost The Bet, So Far its a Tie.
