  • I think you are not alone in the historical ignorance regarding Jews of Color, that plagues much of the elitist world, as well as the Church, responsible for the exile of the Northern Kingdom Tribes. It is another miracle in a long list of existential proofs worth noting, along with the rebirth of Eretz Yisra'el and the return of the Jews to their covenant land.

  • She can convert to Judaism if she is so inclined, and then she is Jewish.

  • Fuck there bloodsuckers

  • Henan is where the Chinese House Church movement originally started 40 years ago...today, this province has over 10 million Christians, and have missionary send over to the Middle East and South Asia....Praise the Lord!

  • @ghostexorcist That's good to know. (insert non-sarcastic smiley face here.)

  • @streamingmadly They are obviously not too upset about it because they are letting them perform Aliyah to Israel. Communists or not, China is an economy and an economy loves money. The money that foreign investors pump into the community no doubt makes its way to Chinese hands.

  • @ghostexorcist That may be so, but by the time the communists came to power, the Kaifeng Jews had lost all knowledge of Judaism. If they are celebrating blessing the Torah, it can only be because they are receiving instruction from foreigners, ie non-Chinese citizens, which the Communists do not like at all

  • @streamingmadly The monarchy knew about them for hundreds of years. For instance, a Jew named An San (Hassan) was given military rank and bestowed the proper Chinese name Zhao Chen (Zhao the honest) for stopping a coup d'état against the Ming government in 1421. This isn't even the earliest mention of Jews in Chinese records. The currently government, however, has only known about them for the last 60 years or so.

  • Does the Chinese government know about this? I'd hate to see the Kaifeng Jews go the way of the Falon Gong.

  • Only if she converts... and then there is a good chance that the other sects won't recognize her children as being truly jewish... and then when her son marries a jewish women he has to get a second circumcision...couldn't make that up if my life depended on it. They take a needle and...

  • ok thanks , now i understand

  • There are many examples of this throughout history, but, regarding oriental Jews, the Kaifeng Jews married Chinese women and they converted to Judaism. Jewish merchants active in the "India Trade" sometimes married their Hindu slave girls. They had to emancipate them before the marriage was considered legal, though.
