Have you ever felt the feeling like it's the end of the world? That kind of feeling occurred to me a week ago.

5:30a.m., September 26 2009, I was waken up by the water that penetrates the wall beside my bed in a small 2-storey apartment I'm rent in Don Mariano Subd., San Juan, Cainta, Rizal.

I was home alone with no food. I was so bothered knowing that my area is prone to flood. The rain was heavy and non-stop, I immediately packed some clothes and evacuated my house. At around 7:30a.m., Outside the subdivision along Ortigas Ave. Extension, flood started to submerge above knee level, I took the bus out of Cainta and stayed with my colleages pad in Life Homes Subd. in Napico, Manggahan, Pasig.

Wind was soaring and serious rain became stronger. I never expected that flood will get to their area as well. That night was the worst. There was no form of communications, my cellphone had no network coverage, not even landline. It was blackout, no tv, no radio, so we dont know what is happening outside. It felt like its the Doomsday. I wish I was with my family back in Batangas, I made myself reflect and pray that everythings gonna be alright.

I got stranded for almost 3 days in my colleage's place, until my family was able to hear from me. I also visited my relatives in Manggahan where my brother Enzo stayed. God is great that we were all safe.

The following scene in this video was the aftermath of what was happened.

  • Wow, impressive and well done video. I had heard from my friends about how bad it was. My best friend's house was flooded too. A very bad time for the islands. Only lived and worked there for 1 year 2006 to 2007 but still have friends there. I worked in Cainta too, that was my main office (call centers) Thank God you and your family were okay. My prayers are always with the Philippines since I left.

Again a well done documentary video. Thanks for sharing.
