Ten-year-old Estibaliz is growing up in Cabuya, which is very close to a national nature reserve and has a thriving ecotourism business. We follow Estibaliz to her school and see her in her classes. After school, she does her chores and we visit with her parents while they work. The next day, Estibaliz walks to an island during low tide and later in the evening attends an exciting soccer game followed by a fun-filled community dance.
In the Award Winning Families of the World Series, viewers get a peek at the everyday lives of two families - usually an urban and a rural family. We are introduced to a child who helps narrate his or her activities. The footage is fantastic - intimate but not intrusive. Lots of interesting facts about the country are presented from a realistic viewpoint which brings other cultures up close.
