I think once i heard that the reason you couldn't see stars while on the moon was because the moon itself is too reflective and washes out small points of light like that of stars. Don't know if it's true but that's one explanation i heard a few years ago.

I am going to say this only once. The capsule was filled with 100% Oxygen rather than a normal air mixture of Nitrogen (~78%), Oxygen (~21%), and small amounts of Argon & Carbon Dioxide, and other trace gases. The capsule is filled with unshielded electrical wiring and switches. Even a diminutive spark in 100% O2 ignites. Why would people who could lauch into orbit not think that a spark could ignite 100% O2. Why didn't Gus, Ed, and Roger think of this either? This tells HOW, but not WHY.
