In Afghanistan since 1999, Emergency provides free of charge, high quality medical and surgical care to victims of war, landmines and poverty.
Over the years admission criteria have been extended and facilities upgraded in order to meet increasing needs.
All Emergency's facilities are designed, built and run by specialized international personnel who provide training for local staff: final goal is handover.
The 3 Emergency's hospitals in Anabah (Panjshir Valley), Kabul and Lashkar-gah (Helmand) are connected to 29 FAPs and PHCs in order to provide primary health treatment or safe transfer for severe cases.
Almost 2,000,000 patients have been treated free of charge by Emergency in the country so far. Please visit www.emergency.it
