http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Hicks

William Melvin Hicks was an American stand-up comedian in the 1980s and early 1990s. He challenged mainstream beliefs, aiming to "enlighten people to think for themselves."

Hicks used a ribald approach to express his material, describing himself as "Chomsky with dick jokes." His jokes included general discussions about society, religion, politics, philosophy and personal issues.

Hicks' material was often deliberately controversial and steeped in black comedy. In both his stand-up performances, and during interviews, he often criticized media and popular culture as oppressive tools of the ruling class, meant to "keep people stupid and apathetic."

An inspired and inspiring truth teller, dangerous and brave and scary all at once.
Richard Pryor

Hickss stand-up act is about taking a stand and occasionally dodging a chair.
Rolling Stone

Savage, brilliant, funny, tremendously intelligent.
John Cleese

He never disappointed.
David Letterman

Bill Hicksblowtorch, excavator, truth-sayer, and brain specialist, like a reverend waving a gun around. He will correct your vision. Others will drive on the road he built.
Tom Waits

  • LOL @NickNoire15 still arguing 'till he's blue in the face. Buddy what's your goal here? To convert all the stoners of youtube in to tea-totallers? GOOD LUCK WITH THAT!!!

  • @derrickwaynelange whats actually considered as "productive" anyways? know what i mean

  • @NickNorie15 I don't believe i used the word segregation properly in my retort, so please acknowledge this also. You know what I meant

  • @NickNorie15 And to say "Nobody is above the law", is to say that laws are eternally static, but in reality, laws are changed quite frequently.....So am I only below a law while it is in place? That's like saying African-Americans were not above the laws segregating them from normal society back in the middle century, ya know, cause it was the "Law". ( I am not saying you are a racist, please acknowledge the context)

  • @NickNorie15 And "Feeling good about yourself" Is not the same as doing something to feel good. Self Esteem VS Pleasure

  • And for the love of god, please don't tell me about how little I accomplish when I happen to be stoned, because I have got some wood carvings that would blow your mind.

  • @NickNorie15 To answer your question.....no....no I would NOT use marijuana if not for the "feeling good" part. I don't know about you, but the only reason I get out of bed in the morning is to make an attempt to feel as good as possible. I also wouldn't play raquetball (don't know how to spell that one), wouldn't study for classes, wouldn't eat delicious bacon'n'eggs......the list goes on. I will not do anything, if there isn't the slightest bit of pleasure in it for me

  • @NickNorie15 Buddy, with all due respect, why would you do anything if it didn't make you feel good? Would you go to work if you didn't get paid? Would you detail your car if it didn't feel good to watch the sun reflect off a newly buffed hood? Would you grow tomato plants if you didn't enjoy the harvest? Would you hang with your friends if you didn't enjoy making meaningful memories? Would you lift weights if it wasn't healthy for you? What is so wrong with a little gratification?

  • @derrickwaynelange

Okay, then tell me: Why would you use marijuana, if not for the "feeling good' part? Keep in mind that I'm not talking about prescribed marijuana.

  • @derrickwaynelange

Nobody is above the law, that's what I'm saying. You might disagree with it and that is your right so you should research, see both sides of the issue and try to get it changed. It's a simple as that. Until then, it is the law and honestly, it's nothing like the newest NDAA. It's not that much of an attack to our rights as citizens as a lot of people make it sound.
