@superman93994 The Eagles also beat the Raiders during the regular season that year but Jim Plunkett stepped it up when it counted and Raiders buried the Eagles in the Super Bowl in the same season. Landry was the better coach than Flores but Plunkett played at another level. Flores Raiders beat the cowboys in the 1983 regular season game. Thanks for the feedback, my condolances to Cowboy fans for the passing of Dandy Don Meredith. Merry Christmas.

Cowboys would have beaten the raiders in 81. They had already beat them that year. Tom landry over Tom flores in a big game.

A Tony Dorsett fumble stops him from going and winning a super bowl, was a play just to consume time and locate the bowl for the kicker, Tony fumbled that ball and the Cowboys lost they game with San Francisco by one point 27-28

White doesn't fold fast like Romo does. Romo is the most overrated qb in the NFL right now.

Danny White > Tony Romo

What did not help was that the Cowboys had to play those 3 straight NFC title games on the road. Gosh, I wish they had beaten the skins in '83. Thiesman could fertilize a desert with his mouth. Had the Cowboys won the 3 NCF title games, They would have lost to the Raiders in the '81 superbowl.....had a dogfight with the Bengals in the '82 superbowl and beaten the Dolphins in the '83 Superbowl. I think those Cowboy teams would have beaten the Saints and Colts this year.

yea....Danny was very good at being a qb...punter....and just all-around nice guy. Should be in the Cowboy's Ring of honor for sure. The Cowboy teams from the early 80's were just as good as any....they just didn't quite play to their ability in the NFC championship games

@jg300gman Danny White was also a great punter and how many fake punts did he pull off for first downs.
-
I can't believe that Danny has gotten so fat and why he and Craig Morton are not in the Ring of Honor

@jg300gman I caught Staubach's last two seasons, but Danny White was the Cowboys QB I remember most. He was my favorite Dallas QB
This guy always played with CLASS. Win or lose, the guy was absolutley a professional. Never complained, never got out of line. Great player who never got the credit he deserves.

I liked Danny White a lot. His teams did well, but just fell short a few times. I still remember the one play in the mid 1980's that seem to end the Cowboys run as an elite team. It was a 4th down hand off to Ron Springs versus the Redskins. It was a knockout punch that I could feel sitting at home. The Cowboys were never the same again until they rebuilt in the early 90's.
