The Secret Life of the East High Teenager [[chapter 17 part 1]]

After class was over I headed off to Math, which I found way too boring. After math was lunch. Time to face everybody. I sat down at the usual table and got my lunch out. Soon afterwards Jocelyn, Stella, Macey, and Nick joined.

McKell: Hey guys.

Nick: Hey.

Soon afterwards Kevin and Keisha came over to us.

Keisha: hey guys. Look, Im sorry I never told you about Chad-

McKell: its ok, we understand why.

Keisha: you do?

McKell: yeah we do.

Soon Joe, Miley, Lily, Oliver, Alex, and Justin joined us.

Miley: Hey guys! I missed yall.

McKell: What did you do?

Miley: I went to um Tennessee.

Keisha: Oh cool.

Joe: So Stella, your party is Friday right?

Stella: Yep, my goodbye party.

Alex: I cant believe you got the job at Mad Style.

Harper: I know its so cool.

Jocelyn: I love New York, I wish I could go.

We continued to talk and then it was time to go to our classes. After school Joe met me at my locker.

Joe: Hey, I wont be able to take you home, it appears we have a photo shoot.

McKell: its ok, Im sure I can catch a ride with Keisha.

Joe: K. Im sorry.

I leaned up and gave him a quick kiss.

McKell: dont worry about it. Ill see you afterwards.

Joe: of course.

He gave me another kiss then left when Keisha came up to me.

Keisha: Hey!

McKell: hey, can I get a ride, I didnt bring my car, I rode with Joe and he has a photo shoot.

Keisha: yeah, but I rode with Chad.

McKell: Oh. Well thats fine. I will sit in the back.

Keisha: I dont blame you.

Me and Keisha made our way out to the parking lot. We walked over to a nice shiny black car and chad was standing next to it with his arms crossed.

Chad: Well it took you long enough. What is she doing here?

Keisha: Well since she lives next door, were giving her a ride home. Shes my friend.

Chad: what, your boyfriend doesnt want to ride with you?

McKell: He has a photo shoot.

Chad: Oh. Well-

Keisha: Drop it Chad.

We got into his car and there was a silence between us.

Keisha: So-

Chad: So-

McKell: So-

After 10 minutes he pulled up at my house I got out of the car muttering a quick thank you and I hurried into the house.

Troy: hey, whats wrong?

McKell: just an awkward ride with Keisha, and Chad.

Troy: Oh, well why didnt Joe bring you home?

McKell: they have a photo shoot.

Troy: Oh.

I went upstairs and started on my homework. After 3 hours I finally finished and headed downstairs for dinner.

Sidney: Mckwell? Whew is mommy?

McKell: Shes at work.

Trevor: So does that mean dad made dinner?

Troy: Unfortunately.

Jack: Alright Kids! Dinner!

Mckell: Mmm........................................................Dad. I cant wait.

He placed the---- thing down on the table. It looked horrible.

Troy: Dad? What is that?

Jack: That is Shepards Pie.

It looked like, dog food.

McKell: you know, I just remembered, Im doing a no eating experiment.

Jack: Nonsense, eat, there is pleanty!

Just then Chad D., Zeke, and Jason came in the house followed by Gabby and Taylor.

Gabby: Hey guys.

McKell: Hey.

Chad: whats for dinner?

Jack: shepards pie.

Chad started digging into it while me, gabby and Taylor were secretly throwing up.

Jason: Yum!

He dug in too. Zeke looked horrified and put an arm around me.

Zeke: Ill save you. Come on.

McKell: you know, I think Ill take you up on that offer another time. Im going to Joes house.

Jack: Come on McKell you havent had any.

McKell: I forgot I have a project with Nick I have to work on.

Jack: Oh, ok, Ill save some for you.

Mckell: you do that dad. Bye.

I hurried out of the house and ran next door. I walked in and Joe looked up from his plate of spaghetti with it hanging out of his mouth. I took out my phone and took a picture while Kevin, Nick, Sandy, John(not sure of their dads name) and Frankie laughed.

McKell: Wooh that was priceless.

He wiped the food from his mouth and came and stood next to me.

Joe: whats wrong are you ok?

McKell: well, other than the fact that dad made dinner, Im fine.

John: Oh sit.

Sandy: there is plenty for you.

I sat next to Joe and Nick and they gave me some food. See, this happened often, if my dad was the one cooking.

Kevin: What did he make today?

McKell: Sheppards pie.

Nick: oh man thats horrible. He made that 3 months ago when I was over. I was sick for a week.

McKell: why do you think Im here?

We ate our food and then me and Joe went upstairs and sat on his bed.
