If you have two computers, but only one monitor, keyboard and mouse, you should consider a KVM switch. It allows for very easy switching and a very neat solution when space is at a premium.

  • can I add an USB active 5m extension cable between kvm and USB to PS/2 host keyboard mouse?

  • @kyubiki I would think this would be OK.

  • @davomrmac no you can't go further than 3 meters

  • @81minuten Hmmmm, even though it is active, I took this as some sort of powered extender?

  • You would actually lave dedicated devices plugged into each individual computer, so I think the USB ports provided on this unit are enough for most users. Point taken though, a CS1782+Hub would be great.

  • Thinking about buying the one that is smaller, but wondering if it works with one computer and one xbox 360 instead of two computers?

  • clear and concise review. thank you. you could have shown it working though.

thinking of switching over to Mac but still need a PC for some apps and games.

this is ideal for saving space and money. great product.

  • Terrible review. It was not reviewed at all. All you did was tell me what the product sheet says!

How long does it take to switch between computers?

Does the mouse port allow multi-function mice or only simple emulation?

    Same for the keyboard.

What's the max resolution that this supports?

    These are important questions...

  • @davomrmac even then you cant go on each sid further than 3 meters

  • That is quite a nice KVM switch.

  • Aten make dozens of KVM switches, but this one is the cheapest to support Dual-Link DVI, which is important if you have a 30" LCD monitor.

I am surprised you didn't mention that in the review.
