The Intel Medfield is Intel's SoC (System on a Chip) Atom Z2460 variant ment for Android based smartphones.
The MFLD PR3 or "Medfield Preview 3" is a reference design running Android 2.3.7 geared towards manufacturers to get the platform started.
With a single core locked at 1.6GHz, the PR3 reached an average Quadrant score of 3500 and 84 MFLOPS on Linpack.
The reference design has a 4" 1024x600 display, a 8mp rear and 1.2mp front facing camera, NFC capabilities, full 1080p HDMI out,16gb of storage and an untold amount of RAM.
Intel's software/hardware combo also allows for full 360* video record with gyroscopic playback.
The PR3's camera is also capable of taking photos at 15fps. (Not a typo, lol) MP for this rate was not specified.
The first Medfield device, the Lenovo K800 ships Q2 2012 in China. Motorola has already confirmed it will make a Medfield smartphone with Intel.
