They can play progressive metal without being as pompous as dream theater

"Once he had forests and mountains
That were only his - listening to him
Once he would run through the summer days
Catching memories for ages to come
Now he is dressing this naked floor
With his flesh and blood, and times passes by
His trade of pain might just have lead him
To deal with consequence
For some change as time passes by"

I think the same!

@kokopiko Actually I think progressive more refers to using new ideas or concepts, or 'thinking outside the box'. Not playing the same chord progression over and over for 10 minutes.

I used to dream about Canada / Alaska...every night - I was FREE
Here I sit in front of a shitty computer produced in Taiwan...14 Words!

5 seconds an I'm hooked. This is how progressive metal has to be done.

Progressive in context of any genre means that it takes particular genre to higher level!! Not broken beats and guitar masturbation, god damn it!!!

@gosseyne ... I thought BE was amazing - sure there were points where you though - wtf was Daniel thinking - but somehow I thought it all worked - and damn, it's a thinker for sure. Scarsick is really fucking weird - I'll give you that (not bad, just hard to listen to until you get into it).

TPE Vol 1 and Remedy Lane were POS at their best (not that Entropia and OHBTCL weren't excellent as well). It's been all downhill since. "Be" was self-indulgent dross, and "Scarsick" was an exercise in adolescent shock tactics and misbegotten woefully awful songwriting ("Disco Queen" anyone?). Talk about expertly-formed, finely bronzed poodle turds. This album's definitely one.
Endlich gibts auch "The Perfect Element" auf youtube! :)
nette Bilder, übrigens

Was glaubst Du denn, warum ich mich als Aushilfs-Fotoregisseur versucht habe? Weil es ausgerechnet dieses Wunderwerk nicht zu hören gab, zumindest nicht in der Original-Version :-)
