J. Robert Oppenheimer was an American theoretical physicist, best known for his role as the scientific director of the Manhattan Project, the World War II effort to develop the first nuclear weapons, at the secret Los Alamos laboratory in New Mexico. He is known colloquially as "the father of the atomic bomb". Taken from the Atomic Age video collection.

"with great knowledge comes great sorrow" and you can see that clearly displayed in this man's eyes. Oppenheimer's sorrow touches me...deeply.

Then why did General Patton propose invading Russia? By late 1945, Russia was more of a threat than Japan or Germany. And Patton was well versed in geopolitics by the way.

well the western world was more faith orientated early in the 1900s , people were more conscious of what they said in public, not saying swearing didn't exist, but since they broke away from "the fear of god" and technology increased we are more exposed to to it

really? you know that profanity was less common back then and you have sources on the all the words used daily back then? all i'm trying to say is that profanity was just as common back then as it is now.

but good sir .. at no point have i dismiss or objected to your argument, i am well aware that slang and profanity have been around for years, why the word "fuck" has been thrown around since the french revolution, but now in the 21st century an adult can't go a day or two without hearing or saying it. My case is simple,i am not disagreeing with you that slang and profanity has been around for centuries, but since its primordial beginnings it has snowballed till now its is very common.

that's where you're wrong my friend! you only think they did it less because no one talks about the people who used profanity and slang so they have become forgotten. all i'm saying is that don't think the world was rid of slang and profanity at any point in time.
