Kassava war über Jahrhunderte das wichtigste Grundnahrungsmittel der Kalinago auf Dominica, bis sie der Reiz von Weizen packte - Weizen, den man importieren musste. Mehr Infos unter www. kalinago.org
I love how outsiders looooove to come and try to tell us who we are based on just appearance! Especially when we garifuna cover a wide range of phenotypes even within a given community!
kalinago and garinagu(garifuna) are the same people just without the african influence, garifuna is just a africanized form of the kalinago language, in both languages the men speak carib and woman speak arawak.
@castro198227 "LOL"! There is NOTHING to argue about dude! I just thought you were implying something else! That is all! But what part of Central America are you from? I have seen differences in the Caribs of Dominica, and the Caribs of Central American culture of Garifuna! Like Garifuna identity is based around Caribs culture and language with other influences added to it! I have always found all types interesting!
@chsn09 My friend all im trying to say is that Garifuna peoples are a mixture. If you are a Carib, then the blood that runs through my veins are the same that run through yours. It's the same GODDAMN THING. Im not saying they are garifunas they just contributed their DNA. So don't argue.
@castro198227 Okay for starters YOU don't argue with me because I know my history as well!!!!! I was just sayin that these are not the Garifuna cuz it sounded like you was calling the Caribs of Dominica Garifunas! I know about who and what the Garifuna are! These people in Dominica are somewhat related to other indigenous groups! Are you from Dominica or from Central America(which nation)?
@chsn09 I know they are the Caribs of Dominica but we are still the same people because the Garifuna is mixture of African(Yoruba,Akan, Dogon, and other West African tribes), kalinagu(Caribs), and Arawaks(taino). I know where I came from and my ancestral history. So don't argue with me!!
