Meenakshi Hydro Power Project, Orissa, India

Meenakshi Hydro Power Project is located on the river Kolab in Koraput & Malkangiri district in the state of Orissa. There are infact 2 power projects - the first one is known as Middle Kolab having 2 units of 12.50 MW each operating under a head of around 34 mtrs and 10 kms downstream the second one known as Lower Kolab with 3 units of 4 MW each under a head of around 10 mtrs. The photos relate to visit made in the initial stage i.e. prior to start of work sometime in 2005 and then in Jan 2007 when the project was under active construction and then in August 2009 when both were commissioned and running.
