  • how could i distinguish between autism and asbergers in the behaviour of a 3r old? thanks

    :-)

  • @HannyCheung I hate to say this - It's very hard, in many states and insurances, to get services for aspergers. In the state of AZ, your child will only get services for Autism, Epilepsy, Cerebral Palsy and Cognitive Impairment. Since you don't know where you might be for the rest on your child's development and they're still 3 - go for the autism diagnosis.

Aspergers is more verbal, cognitive yet socially inept. They go on and are experts on a subject (like trains) w/o any thought.

  • I feel like crying. I have a 4 year old who has severe OCD, my son who's almost 3 who has possible atisum or something also he has some kind of language disorder, (please watch my videos on him), and now seeing this video, my 7 mth old doesnt respond to me, doesn't imitate me, and didn't roll till 5 mths. I kinda have a feeling something is wrong. Also, just 6 mths ago my son was clear as a bell with his speech, now he is like (on the videos). He started talking at 10 mths, with sentences at 11

  • Thanks for your quick reply. Luckily my 3 yrs old lives in Scotland which means he gets services from the government regardless of whether he has autism or aspergers e.g. free medicine, free schooling, free treatments.

I ask, because at 3 yrs old, he doesn't do any stimming and is progressing well .... could this mean he is an 'aspie', or could we expect 'potential' regression with more autism traits has he gets older..
