Could there be a more perfect rendering of the mood of this classic?

this song always bring me a deeply sad feeling...
but this Blossom's rendition, its both sadness & happiness
just so special
she's kinda an angel in Jazz

When this woman finishes singing this song, you are alone, and thinking back over a void.

There has been a golden age of music in London in the 60s of small jazz clubs, coffee bars where you could go after listening to Blossom Dearie, Nina Simone and many others who are no longer with us. When I listen to this I think of falling rain, umbrellas, women in skirts dashing for a taxi, reflections from illuminated shop windows and a London never to return.

yea vulnerability truthful but not fragile

Ages since I've heard this song...

Unsurpassed talent. Few have ever reached her level. Goes straight to the heart and doesn't let go.

I have a treasured memory of seeing her at Ronnie Scott's jazz club in Soho in 1961, which produced this album.

This may be the most fully human and vulnerable voice you have ever heard
