Also very few videographers use factory settings on any camera, everyones gonna' change the setting to get the look they like, which any professional camera will allow you to do.

I think the filmmakers were using the factory settings for the Z5U. If you choose to use the pp settings, outdoors can look a lot better than this. Also if you white balance with warm cards, footage will look a lot better. I love the comparison vids, but you have to take into account with tweaks most cameras can all end up looking about the same.

Nice comparison. They look pretty similar indoors. Outdoors it looks like the EX1 has a lot more latitude to the image.
