Amid the gloom and doom of the vast majority of the music of John Dowland (1563-1626), there are the occasional works of lightness and even whimsy. Among these trifles is Lady Hunssdon's Allemande, also known as Lady Hunsdon's Puffe, a very brief and very delightful work of less than two minutes' duration. Set in binary form with lively outer sections in the rhythm of an almain and a closing section with a more march-like rhythm, Dowland's Lady Hunsdon's Almain remains a charming work by this most doleful of composers. ~ All Music Guide

  • @raymondjamesrivera Good classical guitars sound indeed does improve with age

  • I've seen this guitar in person, the coolest thing about it is that it's broken in, kind of the way old Fender Strats do, believe it or not. But I love that because it gives me an image of this incredible artist just putting in the time to play at this level. Obviously he is naturally gifted, but I like the thought of him practicing like 8 hours a day. True or not that inspires me to play...

  • Yo you'd be rocking out in the medieval era!

  • Oh Stu you're a pure stunner pure tanning yersel

  • Just came back to this after a long break. It really is very good! Well-balanced across the register. :o)

  • Very nice version, when I try playing this, I use a simpler version and that is still a hard effort for me. But the piece itself is also very beautiful in itself.

  • Absolutely outstanding.

  • Impressive - I will study your version in order to progress in my own.

  • Best performance of these piece ever. Tempo, tone color, interpretation, ornamentation...couldn't be better. May I ask whose transcription you're playing?

  • no matter how many times i listen, this is an outstanding performance
