A simple Lua script that translates the wiimote's pitch sensor value into a sequence of left and right button presses.
Uses a custom dll as an interface to the wiiuse library. Also works on other emus and other games with minor adjustments.

Can miau make it to the finish line of Mute City I or will the wheel's crazy sensitivity be his doom?

Sorry for the lame video quality.
More wiimote and lua fun (and sources) coming soon... possibly.

  • Please post lua! I've been trying to do something like this with Glovepie, and I can't calibrate the sensitivity right.

  • I'll have to fix and clean up the library first before I can release the script. Even then I don't know if the sensitivity will be right.

If nothing else helps you might want to hack the rom to get it right.

  • Should really make it kick in L/R too, and maybe up/down for jumping..?

Cool, though, but seems way too sensitive.

  • The biggest problem seems to be latency, albeit barely noticeable in the video. I wonder where it's coming from.

It's like playing games that require fast reactions via netplay. If the ping is just a few ms too high they become entirely unplayable.
