Moving our Joel Salatin (slightly modified) design chicken tractor. The Sussex birds now enjoy escaping to freedom during the move. There's an escape door built into the side which allows us to herd them back in after the move.

UPDATE: A few modifications were made to the chicken tractor at the end of the year. The wheels were raised slightly so there was not as big a gap when the tractor was lifted up. We also moved the wheels closer to the centre of the frame. This took some of the weight off when moving the tractor with the dolly. Finally, we also added a skirting out of old belting.

  • COOL! One word.... PVC!! We just made a tractor but used PVC for most of it and it is SOOO much easier to move~! Some 3 inch for the base is what we used and some 3/4 inch for the hoop type run.
