Sabario is a stupid example & an insult to the game

soccer shud have a challenge the play thing like the NFL -_-

However, with that being said, this play was an absolute mess - Gantar did not see the dive because he was trying to get into position, but the assistant should have been able to see it as they were straight in line with the assistant. At that point I would have expected him to communicate over the mic with Gantar and say something. Even if he could not pull the PK back, at least do not hand out the red

Unfortunately, this type of officiating is very common in the MLS, it is sad when a lower level league like this is handing out more reds than La Liga or the English Premier League...but you cannot blame the Canadian FIFA official David Gantar totally. Years ago the MLS was not so bad with respect to reds, however they have started mandating plays to the referee's which warrant ejections, increasing the number of reds that are being given out. They have taken the game from the referee's hands.

@m1spike they suspended Saborio, but the refs aren't the MLS' to disband/discipline unfortunately

MLS has one credibility issue the quality of it's referee. The league better address this. Saborio will get his....suspension.

People come to soccer matches to see goals scored, not goals prevented by fouls. The refs tend to give the attacking players the benefit of the doubt. Unless a player falls with no one near him, the ref is not likely to call him for diving. Contact occurred inside the box in an OGSO situation, so the ref felt he had little choice but to issue the red card. I don't know if an IFK could have been awarded instead of the PK, however.

MLS needs to immediately suspend Saborio and referee David Gantar

ASI ES EL FUT!.. Vamos ARRIBA
MLS, USSF and FIFA should be looking at this vid as a prime example of really bad officiating.

@yoselin500 That wasn't RSL's fault. You can hate RSL, but that wouldn't have a thing to do with it. The official made a terrible call, not as a result of RSL appealing for it, but because he's a crap official.
