I think the Serbs started this war because of their nationalistic views against austria-hungary. in 1914, when the assassination was committed, Austria-hungary declared war.

@martynrobin121 besides,germany did ask belgium for safe passage of her troops. belgium declined. germany would have a major strategic advantage if they invaded france through belgium,rather than their own border.

@martynrobin121 germany didnt start the great war,the austro-hungarian empire did. russia started to mobilize her army after the austro-hungarian empire invaded serbia,which posed a huge threat to germany. germany only fulfilled her obligation as an ally. if i'm not mistaken,the germans did offer france a chance to stay neutral. they declined.
PS-britain was partly responsible for the ottoman empire siding with germany.
