@4raChn0PhoBia You're right. You shouldn't over-extend the elbows. You'll notice the difference when you strain it too far.

@Bodyweightcultureman That's a silly response. Ever heard of tennis elbow? If you hyperextend the knee joint continuously you will end up with damaged knees. If fully extend the elbow, as I'm assuming the questioner means, you'll end up with damaged elbow joints. It's common sense and doesn't require a degree in exercise science.

@4raChn0PhoBia What about when doing handstands?

hi, i have been following a little bodyweight routine i made for myself for about 5 months now and have put on roughly 7.5kg since i started, is this a good gain for someone of slender build? this is my current routine- every 2 days i do; 50 chinups 50 pullups 100 situps 100 bicycle sit-ups 100 pushups are there any improvements that could be done to this workout? any help would be greatly appreciated.

wow, did this for 2 weeks and saw great results, thanks

That all depends on the position of the arm.

Noooo, not that :D Of yourse you can, but you can't for example land on straight legs. And by the way, even stading for long time hurts your knees :)
I just mean, for example, when exercising bench press, you shouldn't lift the weight all the way up and straighten the hands, for it can damage your elbow. And I've heard the same about pushups, but am not certain about it. So I just ask, whether it is true or not.
I've heard that when doin any kind of excercise, I should never end up with straight arms, because then all your weight stands directly on your joints, like elbows in case of pushups. Is that true?

Never heard of problems with straight arms.
Does that mean you can't stand on straight legs?

Great looking exercises. It would be great if you'd describe which muscle group each targets.
