Back in the '70's was attached to the 369th Regt. NYANG. For Martin L. King Day we would march in the parade and go back to the 145th st Armory for a celebration. At the end, the old WW1 vets would all get together and sing this, there was not a dry eye in the house. It was an honor and privilege to have known them. They went to war as the 15th Harlem foot, were assigned to the French and spent more continuous days in line than any other US Regiment in that war.

Although there are infinite variations of beauty, there is probably no clearer sentiment of treasured friendship in this fleeting life than My Buddy. It all passes so quickly, and so we are keen to hold on to what we treasure, and make it real. Love, after all, is our escape from mortality.
