From http://www.GilsMethod.com - This how-to video will show you how to convert RAW files to JPEG's with Picasa. I specifically use .NEF files (Nikon RAW image format) in this guide.

  • Well done...

But when i convert the picture the file is very small :S

I had the picture in 8 mb when i had convert it was 450 kb

  • @Yipper2601 That's expected. JPEG format compresses the image. RAW format is the raw pixels your camera takes...so when you convert to another format it is usually compressed.

  • when you take a picture, you set the camera to RAW images, then you take them from the memory card, then do you convert them? do you lose quality?

  • Your explanation is clear but incomplete, how frustrating!!! U should start at the beginning, I have a folder with raw formats on my hard disk and aparently need to import them first in order to see the appearing like where u start in the vid. I imported everything, but cant see the files anywhere?!?!
