A guide by Prince Mercury to proper etiquette and language concerning transfolk. This covers the sorts of things that you'd rather hear from me than the person bitching you out.

This can be a decent place for questioning people who are just starting, and a 101/summary for a lot of the ideas in my videos. I made some of these mistakes when I was starting, too.

What do you agree or disagree with? Is there something you'd add to this list? I'd love to hear it!

  • I must teach you how to box ears. It's fun!

  • @Luminasita Sounds like fun. I'm game.

I have to admit, though, that I think of boxing ears as something mean matrons do to poor English orphans. Little Princess, mostly.

  • i had someone say to my trans friend

"oh so you want to be a guy? but why, you are such a cute girl, then i wouldn't flirt with you"

that just made me go >:/

  • Tip number five is an important one for me, as I usually default to "actor," regardless of gender. It is partially conscious, too, as I for whatever reason dislike the artificial separation that actor vs. actress creates. Waitstaff are "servers," rather than waiter/waitress, but that is becoming industry standard, I believe.
