A friend had a roof cam on the SP4449 westbound run and on review we discovered a chaser in the hunt whose "pony got away from him" when the road turned to gravel and spun out in to a ditch at about 40 seconds , we sure hope they are ok

  • I hate chasing steam specials, it brings out the worst of the stupid drivers. Yeah the train is cool but PAY ATTENTION TO THE _______ ROAD!

  • Thats why you dont " tweet "and drive. or you will be texting to AAA for a tow

  • What NOT to do while chasing a train.

  • poeple are so fixated on the engine they dont pay attention to the road.

I dont blame them. But for me, I'll stick with standing in one spot and then going to the next one thank you.

  • So where is superman???????

  • way to follow traffic laws...

  • What spin out? Evil!

  • Looks to me like they were going fast, have a good time, and did a drift turn toward a driveway/road. Look a the video a few seconds before...you can see it. I would say that it's possible either way, but if they wanted to do a drift type turn, going wide, then spinning kinda like they did. But can't really tell from the small video if it was truly executed correctly (as I was taught in professional driving school).

  • stupid city people driving jap crap says it all

  • Dude those three silver cars in the middle of the train I shot video of those on a rare one time only passenger train running on a freight only line in the Feather River Canyon in California shortly after you shot this vid. I also shot some of those dome cars on the back of Amtrak's Coast Starlight train as it detoured over the famous Tehachapi Loop; a freight only line. I also shot that Hiawatha car in the Nevada desert on the Californai Zephyr when my Amtrak engineer friend was driving it.

  • I think, they are ok :)

  • There was an original painting of one of the old Daylight trains in the San Jose station I remember from the early 1960's. Does anyone know where this is now or is it still there?

  • Quite impressive!

    thanks.

  • Those cars, are not made to run at high speed on dirt roads ... for that... buy a AWD Subaru ;)
