I'm fairly new to using SAI but how'd you manage to draw outside the lines and remove the colour outside it without using the select tool or an eraser? xD

@xXSomeRandomBitchXx I used the clipping group function.

1. Create a layer. -> Paint a base color.

2. Create a new layer on top of the first one. -> Check the 'Clipping group' box (located above the layers).

Now you can paint whatever you want without it being outside the lines.

It might look like it just disappeared since I painted the shadows first, and then hit the clipping group.

I have a question (if you dnt mind me asking)

I'm entering a coloring contest as well, but when I open the picture up on SAI, it wont let me color it with layers and it wont work unless I color on the lineart which I do not want to do. How can I make it where it willlet me use layers to color the picture?

I don't recommend the multiply technique. If you have photoshop, I recommend you take a look at this tutorial, I did this with tinachan and chii's images for their contests. It's fast and simple. :)

ust select the places u wanna color and use the eraser tool to erase the part of the pic then create a new layer under it
